Application of carbon monoxide catalyst in fire masks
Fire masks are specially designed for fire escape and protection, in which the filter layer is a key component. Carbon monoxide catalysts are widely used in the filter layer of fireproof masks to convert the CO of the inhalation mask into CO₂ through catalytic action, thus protecting the respiratory health of the wearer.
The inside of the filter tank of the fire mask usually has three layers: desiccant layer, catalyst layer and smoke filter film. The catalyst layer is the carbon monoxide catalyst layer, and
carbon monoxide catalyst (made of active manganese dioxide and copper oxide in a certain proportion) is one of the commonly used catalysts. A desiccant layer is arranged in front of the catalyst layer to absorb water vapor in the air and prevent the catalyst from failing due to moisture. The smoke filter membrane is the last line of defense, which can effectively filter more than 99% of the smoke and small particles.
